when the plants of same kind are cultivated at one place on a large area are called crops.
example:wheat
different types of crops are classified as
- cereals
- vegtables
- fruits
these crops are classified on the basis of season which they grow.climatic condition like temperature,humidityand rainfall.but they will vary from one place to another. varity of crops are grown in different part of the country .they are classified in two types ,they are
- Kharif crops
- Rabi crops
Kharif crops
- crops which grown in rainy seasons.
- these plants grown in the period of June to September.
- example :paddy,maize,groundnut and cotton
- these types of crops required huge amount of water so these types of crops are cultivated in rainy seasons.
Rabi crops
- crops which grown in winter seasons.
- these plants grown in the period of oct to march.
- ex:wheat,gram,pea,mustards ,linseeds.
- these types of crops required less amount of water so these types of crops are cultivated in winter seasons.
rest of seeds like pluses and vegetables are grown in summer seasons.
